Dear fellow birders:

I found your address on Tweeters and Oregon birding mailing lists on
www.birdingonthe.net.

I am an intermediate birder with interest in conservation. This trip is
mainly to visit friends in Portland and Seattle with my non-birding wife
and 3 mainly non-birders school-aged children. We will however, stay two
days in a cabin near Mt Rainier and 2 days on the Oregon coast and have a
day to hike at Mt Hood.

I have had little time to read about birding hot spots in the area. I
visited all these areas once before in the 1980s (before we were married)
when my wife lived in Portland for three years, but didn't have much time
to go birding then. It looks like shorebirds on the coast are not going
to be that exciting, but endemic nesting species that I can't see here in
the Midwest would be very interesting to me.

Could you please give me some pointers by Monday night 6/13?
