Barb and I spent a beautiful basin day searching for migrants. There were
few migrants to be located however we did manage to find a single Red-eyed
Vireo at Sun Lakes State Park.

We also located the Golden Eagle nest above the Rest Area at Blue Lake.
There is at least one and possibly two eaglets in the nest.

Our best bird of the day was a continuing first summer Snow Goose at the
north end of Soap Lake. This is extremely late for a Snow Goose, and one
must wonder why the bird is hanging around. The goose seems to walk and fly
fine, so perhaps it has simply given up on northward migration and is
content to remain through the summer.
