Hi Tweeters,

Today after the WOS board of directors meeting adjourned in Othello, it
reconvened in Washtucna. We thoroughly scoured the town but could not find
the Eurasian Collared-Dove. We did find a Tri-colored Blackbird in Bassett
Park that offered several good views and one poor photo. There was also a
female Yellow-headed Blackbird in the park.

I had an incredibly close encounter with a Prairie Falcon just south of the
park. I was looking at a few Mourning Doves trying to pull out the EUCD
when a Prairie Falcon dove after some birds. At the bottom of its dive it
was less than fifteen feet away from me. Its wings, and tail I suppose,
made an incredible "WHOOSH" as it came out of its dive. I have never heard
anything like it from a bird.
