Tweeters,
Slight northerly breeze, mostly sunny, and very pleasant at Turning
Basin #3. A WILSON'S WARBLER, singing in the restoration peninsula
across TB3 from my location, is the second sighting I've had of this
species near this area. (Last year I spotted one carrying food, but a
bit to the south of TB3.)

The Hamm Creek OSPREYS appear to have hatched their young (unknown
number). The Osprey atop the crane to the south of TB3 is still sitting
tight on the nest, whereas the Hamm Creek birds are both up.

A rabbit was stretched out, apparently basking in the sun, on the bank
below me. Looked like the thing to do on a day like this.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (16)
Mallard (17; including 4 ducklings that were much younger than the
juveniles nearby)
Osprey (3)
Glaucous-winged Gull (5)
Rock Pigeon (15)
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker (calling from the restoration peninsula)
American Crow (2)
Violet-green Swallow (2)
Cliff Swallow
Bewick's Wren (2)
European Starling
Wilson's Warbler
Song Sparrow (2)
Red-winged Blackbird (2)
House Finch
American Goldfinch (3)

Total species for the year: 44 with the additions of Wilson's Warbler
and American Goldfinch today.

May all your birds be identified,
