Hi Tweeters,

Hard to get out of vacation mode but I can see around
here we are in summer mode anyway. I only added one
different bird this week from last week, Cliff
Swallow. Fledgling Black-capped Chickadee's quite
abundant. First Rufous Hummer visit of the year last
week. They come around about as often as the Downy
Woodpeckers, only once in awhile. Last week got to
see two Raccoons lounging around in a tree near the
Academic Computer Center on Brooklyn. First time for
them. The crows were not happy. I saw a different
banded White-crowned Sparrow at Sakuma Viewpoint park
this week. It was not happy either. The grounds crew
for some reason had weedeated a swath through the St.
John's Wort. Maybe the sparrow had a nest there.
His/her bands were left pink over silver, right green
over dark blue.

>From Sakuma Viewpoint park (near Agua Verde
restaurant) to the Montlake bridge:

Canada Goose-and goslings

Unless something unusual stops by (wouldn't the
Ash-throated Flycatcher be nice) I'll probably summer
break myself and be a little more sporadic reporting.
Hope everyone else can get out for bits o birding at
their lunch break. It is a great way to spend the
timeout during the day.
