Ken Orcutt wanted me to pass along a sighting that he had at Nisqually NWR
today at lunch. He got a quick glimpse of two pelicans flying northeast
past the refuge headquarters and thinks they were probably White Pelicans.
Hopefully, some follow-up observations will verify the ID. Last year was
a good year for pelicans in Thurston County, with both species recorded
and 1-2 Browns hanging around for a couple of months. Maybe 2005 will be
just as good.
