Hello Tweeters,

I also was alerted by my indoor cat to activity in our gas fireplace this
spring. An adult Violet-green Swallow was inside, and it was quite a trick
to take the whole fireplace front apart in order to reach the bird.
Fortunately for the bird and me (but not the cat) I was able to catch and
release it back outdoors. And the pilot light is still on; the poor thing
was probably getting toasty warm.
