Greetings Tweets!

The last two rainy days (once last week and today) I have gone to the Mukilteo beach by the ferry dock on my lunch break I have seen one (today) or two (last week) Marbled Murrelets; they have been on the Silver Cloud Inn side of the dock. I first noticed them about 6 weeks or so ago (and gave my thrilled-birder's report at that time) on the south side of the ferry; today the one MM was readily seen with binocs (and without) as it stayed pretty tight to the ferry docking area; it was best seen from the boardwalk on the ferry-side (S) of Ivar's.

There was also a Rhinoceros Aucklet in fairly close to shore out from the north side of the Silver Cloud.

The pair of Pigeon Guillemots was a treat to watch today as one (male?) swam around the other with it's beak open (and moving, though I couldn't distinguish a call) and head stretched up and bobbing. I haven't been able to find this behavior described; is it courtship display or maybe the bird was swallowing a large morsel?

Alas, I did have to return to the office!

Cheers...JT
