While I can't speak for others, as one of the recent Nighthawk reporters I'll say that I'm not new to paying attention to Nighthawks. I've been fascinated by them since childhood. I've been taking regular evening walks in parts of north Seattle, habitually watching the sky, since about 1994. I've reported all 2 of my Seattle Nighthawk sightings to Tweeters. The first was at least 5 years ago. That one was just as much of an event to me as the one I saw June 20th, 2005. Admittedly the first made me more hopeful of seeing more, but it was a mightly long break between the two.

Last night while checking out my new fence I thought I heard "peent! peent!" in the distance but if the Nighthawk was back I missed it. Might have been wishful thinking. But that was one fine addition to the yard list the other day.

I hope they're making a comeback.
