Hi Tweeters,

Had two maybe three nice visitors this week. A Willow
Flycatcher that was being harassed by House Finches of
all things. It was only around for one morning. An
immature male Anna's Hummingbird was nice to see. At
first I thought it was an elusive female but too much
red on the throat. I swore I heard a Caspian Tern but
it didn't call again so just put it on the maybe list.

Many fledged crows. The Barn Swallow nest under the
dock has noisy nestlings in it. The older Canada
Goose youngsters are almost as big as the parents and
basically the same coloration but they give themselves
away when they excercize their wings-all those
pinfeathers show. The Robin's abandoned their nest.
I think the crows got to it.

Wednesday morning it rained so much I did a tracking
excercize through building to see where the heck the
Violet-green Swallows are nesting. I have watched
them carry nesting material up to the tops of some of
the buildings, maybe they go beyond the building but I
am not so sure of this. They were really excited
early in the season over some small indentations on
the K-wing building where I work but there just wasn't
enough depth to build anything there. I couldn't find
any nests but amazed at how many "bugs" live on high.
Sixth floor window with at least 4 spiders, one big
one and many insects buzzing around.
