I led a field trip for the joint conference of the Environmental
Education Associations of Washington and Oregon to the River "S" Unit of
the Ridgefield Refuge in Clark County Saturday morning. We had supposedly
had only two hours for birding but stretched it into three. Best birds
encountered were 1 BLUE-WINGED TEAL (male) 4 REDHEAD, 2 CANVASBACK, 15
GREAT EGRET, SORA, VIRGINIA RAIL, 1 WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH, and numerous
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS.
