Greetings all:
Today at the Kent Ponds we heard the Yellow-breasted Chat singing from the
very same spot where it was seen on last month's census on 22 May. You can
try to hear it from the south tower; the bird is hanging out in the willows
to the north, on the lagoon island. It only sang a few verses then went back
to its silence. Also on the site today were over 100 each of Common
Yellowthroats and Savannah Sparrows, pretty amazing for June. The other
highlights were comprised of two bitterns and the first breeding Wood Ducks
for the site. And a robin feeding tree frogs to its brood.
