I just Googled it, and I feel certain that I have been seeing Painted
Ladies, too, not West Coast as originally thought. I don't know
butterflies at all, other than the usual suspects (Tiger Swallowtail,
Monarch, Cabbage White)--another winged creature to start learning, as
if birds weren't enough. 8-)

>Hmmm. I don't think I've seen a single West Coast Lady this
spring/summer. I've seen hundreds of Painted Ladies, perhaps thousands.
The Painted Ladies seem to be everywhere.
