A few interesting sightings to day on Columbia NWR. Royal Slough is full again for the first time since 1997. Lots of waterfowl, stilts and 8 Lesser Yellowlegs. The biggest surprise was an adult male Barrows Goldeneye. They nest 50 miles north at Lake Lenore, but this might be the first summer record for Adams County. Also made a quick check at the County Line Ponds along highway 26 and had three Western Sandpipers in three different plumages. Very young stilts and avocets as well.
