Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On June 25 a LEAST TERN was at Bandon Beach State Park. It did not remain. A
CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR was along the Columbia River at the Portland
Airport June 29. A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen June 27 in Coos Bay.

The southward shorebird movement is now well underway. Several SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPERS were reported during the week. HEERMANN?S GULLS are now moving
northward. On June 23 a COMMON TERN was at Yaquina Bay.

A probable CASSIN?S FINCH was heard singing at Pittock Mansion in Portland?s
West Hills June 29. A probable ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was reported June 26
west of Yamhill. At least 29 WHITE PELICANS and 10 FORSTER?S TERNS are now
at Baskett Slough NWR. On June 26 a singing LEAST FLYCATCHER was at Ankeny
NWR. A RED-EYED VIREO was there June 25.

On June 27 a REDSTART was at Calliope Crossing north of Sisters. On June 23
three MOCKINGBIRDS were together at Olex north of Condon. A COMMON TERN was
at Summer Lake June 28. Over 1800 AVOCETS and 26,000 WILSON?S PHALAROPES are
now gathered at Lake Abert. A FRANKLIN?S GULL was there June 27.
