Subject: [Tweeters] Turkey Vulture near Sedro-Woolley

Dear Tweeters,

In advance of a big rainstorm, a Turkey Vulture was
coursing eastwards up the Skagit Valley by Bacus Hill
(east of Sedro-Woolley) yesterday, February 28. That
was the first time I had ever seen this species in
Skagit County during the month of February.

At DeBay's Slough at dusk there were hundreds of
Trumpeter Swans flying in and flying over, making an
impressive din. Three Wood Ducks there were my first
of the year. A flock of about fifty American Robins
was present, outnumbering Starlings 50-to-1 on that
visit. Yay!

=====

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch

near Lyman (Skagit County), Washington
