Tweeters, I know it's off-topic slightly but I wanted to get the word out
that there are now 2 TUFTED FLYCATCHERS (photos at
http://azfo.org/photos.html) in White Rock Canyon on the Arizona side of
Lake Mojave. Just think of the N.A. Big Year that could be done this year!

Just to keep it kosher, last Wednesday I saw two Northern Shrikes from the
Twin Barns at Nisqually NWR. We also saw a Bittern at the Ring-dike and
probably 15-20 Yellow-rumped Warblers of both subspecies. It was also
interesting to watch the Common Goldeneyes mating on the Nisqually River
(the drakes grab the back of the hen's head while mounting, it looked both
difficult and painful...or just kinky?). Didn't see the reported
Short-eared Owls along the Ring-dike but we did see three soaring N.
Harriers (vocalizing too). The Tree Swallows from the previous day were
also noticeable in the refuge. Finally Tuesday the 22nd I saw one Western
Meadowlark from the Twin Barns.
