Thanks for letting me know that the Swauk-Teanaway Grange burned down last
year. A pity. There used to be a lot of interesting birds in the area (and
still are, of course, but without a building!). I'm posting to Tweeters to
let others know that might be interested. I can remember several years back
when monk parakeets (or some such Psitticidae) had a huge nest on the
southwest corner under the eaves of the building. We never saw the birds,
but I have photos of the nest. Very impressive. [and maybe I'm wrong re the
species]
