A belated report here from Monday, Feb 28. Headed north to Salisbury Co.
Park, Oak Bay Co. Park, Ft. Flagler, Port Haddlock, ferry to
Keystone/Coupeville, on to Samish Flats.

Nothing super to report: no Yellow-b Loon (Oak Bay) or Falcated Duck (too
little light, too much wind to scope at Samish, and unfavorable tide), and
one brief, single, anonymous Blue Jay call (Pt. Haddlock). A few highlights:
> Bald Eagle chasing a Marbled Murrelett just off Pt. Townsend (~35 eagles
> on the day)
> 14 Bald Eagles observed simultaneously "hovering" against the strong
> wind/updraft above the hillside fir trees from the triangular
> intersection/pulloff at Samish Is. Rd & Scott Rd. Monday's front hit when
> we arrived at around 4:30pm with a powerful squall, and the raptors loved
> it. Also "hovering" were two red-tails (perhaps mating displays) with a
> probable Cooper's Hawk butting in.
> Gyrfalcon on 3rd pole east of W90
> Peregrine Falcon on ground across from 9th pole north of W90
> Glaucous Gull somewhat by itself associated with sizable gull flock in
> field northwest of W90
> 3-4 Short-eared Owls northwest of W90, seen around 5:30-6pm along hunter's
> trail that goes westward toward the dike from the W90 parking lot. (I
> don't recall many reports of owls from Samish.)
> Gorgeous dark-phase Rough-l Hawk hanging around W90
