Sightings for March 4

Two male EURASIAN WIGEON were with AMERICAN WIGEON at the Maude Roxby Bird
Sanctuary in Kelowna (CC). Also at Maude Roxby was an adult GLAUCOUS GULL
(CC).

The DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT was again seen in Sutherland Bay in Kelowna's
North End (RT).

Amongst many CANADA GEESE at Munson's Pond in Kelowna was at least one
CACKLING GOOSE (CC).

Five VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were migrating N. at km 5 on Beaver Lake Road, E.
of Winfield (CC).


Sightings for March 3

A DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT was found diving amongst the AMERICAN COOTS in
Sutherland Bay in Kelowna's North End (GW). It was later seen perched on the
log booms off of Sutherland Bay in the late afternoon (CC,LR).

A wet field at the intersection of Swainson Rd and Treetop Rd on the Rutland
Bench had two WILSON'S SNIPE (CC).

Along Maquinna Road in the Hall Road neighbourhood of Kelowna, a
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEE, 3 CEDAR WAXWINGS, a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET and an
imm. NORTHERN GOSHAWK were seen on March 2 (CC,TF).


Sightings for February 28

A CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEE was found along Hall Road at the N. intersection
of Maquinna Road in Kelowna (CC).

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was found at the Vaseux Lake banding station on the 26th
of Feb (TF,RM). Also at Vaseux Lake were 2 BARN SWALLOWS and 3 TREE SWALLOWS
(TF,RM).

Small numbers of WESTERN BLUEBIRDS have been reported recently along
Meadowlark Lane, off Black Sage Road N. of Osoyoos (LN,GW,LR). MOUNTAIN
BLUEBIRDS are being seen at White Lake (HB). Two GOLDEN EAGLES and a
leucistic MERLIN have been frequenting the Southern Plus Feedlot on Black
Sage Road, N. of Osoyoos (GW,LR).
