This clear .warm beautiful March day MerryLynn and I hit the field birding and observed the following species..............

SWAINSON'S HAWK..........1 ad. at the Valley Chapel Cemetary off Frog Hollow Rd.. Earliest record we have for this county.

Am. Pipits...........................300+ along Frog Hollow Rd. just east of the Forest Rd. intersection. Large early flock for this area.

Barn Owl....................2 in cutbank along Frog Hollow Rd.

Say's Phoebe..............3 along Frog Hollow Rd.

Dunlin..........................264 birds on the Walla Walla River delta.
Least Sandpipers..........7 birds on the Walla Walla River delta. first of the year.
Glaucous Gull...............2 sub-ad. birds on the WWRdelta.
Eurasian Wigeon...........1 ad. male on the WWRdelta.

Greater White-fronted Geese....4 birds on the WWRdelta, 250 birds around Casey Pond off Hanson Loop Dr.

Snow Goose...................1 ad. at MP 300 pond along HWY 12.
Tundra Swan...................13 birds on Casey Pond., 8 birds on the McNary NWR, HQ display pond.

ROSS'S GEESE..........2 ad. birds on Casey Pond.

TRUMPETER SWAN.......1 AD. on the McNary NWR,HQ display pond. Very rare in this area.

Coopers Hawk.............1 ad. male at McNary NWR, HQ

Peregrine Falcon..........1 ad. at Hood Park.

Brown Creeper..............2 at Hood Park.

Glaucous-winged Gull.....11 birds on the HWY 12 " poop
piles"

Coopers Hawk...............1 ad. female with a vole at the WWRdelta

Am White Pelican..............7 birds on the WWRdelta.

Overall it was a great day. Saw several unexpected species. After today we now have 125 species for the county.
