We visited South Whidbey State Park on Saturday. Nothing too spectacular to
report, perhaps because of our late start. Many Hutton's Vireos were singing
including 1 persistent fellow who made the zoo-weep call 65 times in 1
minute!!!
At Lone Lake, we observed our 1st butterfly of the year, an orange job
that flew up to a fir. I'm surmising it was a Satyr Comma (anglewing) though
my wife thought it might be too small for a comma. I can't imagine any other
orange flutterbys (the spellchecker doesn't like that one!) out and about
this early.
