Charles and all, I agree that it would be great to get more owl monitoring
projects started for amateur birders. I ran across a posting from my
brother in Wisconsin regarding a new pilot program doing just this in MN and
WI! So maybe this program will spread out west.

First shot at these routes go to existing MN/WI BBS surveyors. I started
doing two surveys in western WA last summer and had a blast, though chances
for encountering owls (other than Pygmy-Owl) seemed limited. But who knows
