Tweeters,
Just another gorgeous day with warm, light, southerly breezes, clear
skies, though somewhat hazy at Turning Basin #3. A BARROW'S GOLDENEYE,
diving and feeding at the east edge of the river, was the first
documented sighting I've had here. RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS sang from
cattail tops at the restoration area, a first this year.

The wild currant in bloom in the restoration area is a nice counterpoint
against the otherwise (yet) uncolorful background. Could be hummingbirds
there? Tough to view from this side of the river unless I see a gorget
flashing.

Note: The warm weather brings strange viewings - a guy on a
30-or-so-foot pleasure craft (WN9435 NC - no vessel name on the transom)
was anchored near the restoration area, sanding his boat and prepping
for painting. Not a big deal, but the sight of a guy with a dust mask on
and plumber's butt isn't usual here.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (4)
Gadwall (3)
Mallard (4)
Bufflehead (6)
