Subject: [Tweeters] Tail Question

Greetings Tweeters,

While birding in the Hundred Acre Woods (NE Lakewood, Pierce County) I happened to look up to watch a soaring gull, a mostly Glaucous-winged to be specific. Not surprizing, except that he / she had no tail. None, Nada, Zero. I noticed that despite the fairly strong, steady breeze at the time, it was not cruising with wings fully extended, but rather in a "bent M" pattern.

Have others seen this? And could an expert out there give us some info on how tough it may now be for this bird to earn a living?

-Rolan
