Hi Tweets,
Yesterday was a glorious day at Nisqually.
Some of our highlights were seeing the TREE SWALLOWS everywhere. The first encounter was 3 GREATER WHITE FRONTED GEESE grazing along the beginning of the McAllister Creek path. This was a life bird for me. Also, on the way back in the afternoon about 1/2 way up the path on the West side was an AMERICAN BITTERN posing like a cat-tail with his head straight up out in plain sight. It is only my second encounter with one of these birds. We saw our first YELLOW RUMPED WARBLERS of the season. One pair over by the 2 barns and one pair over on the Brown Farn Dike trail- west side about 1 mile from McAllister Creek. The MARSH WRENS were singing their little hearts out.

NEWS FLASH: FEMALE RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD AT OUR FEEDER JUST NOW.

We saw a pair of eagles nesting over on the west side of McAllister creek at the end of the trail in a Douglas Fir. The female was sitting on the nest and the male was hunting.
