Subject: [Tweeters] Eastern Kingbird invasion?

I did a double-take when I read the posting about a
bird that looked like and Eastern Kingbird being
spotted today, because I saw what looked like one
today too! I told myself it can't be - must have been
a shrike, but I swear it looked for all the world like
an Eastern Kingbird! I thought it must be a trip of
the light. I wasn't able to stop and turn around to
confirm identity, but I, too, got a pretty good look,
as it was perched on a telephone line right near the
road. I saw this bird in Pierce County on 304th, just
west of Johnson's Corner down near Ft. Lewis.

I would be very interested in postings from anyone
else who thinks they may have seen an Eastern Kingbird
recently in Western Washington (but perhaps dismissed
it as too remote a possiblity in the area!)

Happy birding, all!

Inga
