Hi Kathy & Tweeters:
Regarding Boeing Ponds access, I contacted Boeing Security to find out
if there was a change in status. The Lieutenant told me that it
remains private property, but that the guards only speak to people at
the ponds if there is a problem. She said they had hired a number of
new security guards, and this fellow probably did not know that it was
okay to walk around the three ponds which are at 54th Pl and
approximately 199th in the north part of Kent, WA. Many people walk
completely around the ponds during lunch hour, and at other times.
People even bring their dogs down there.
If you have problems w/ access down there, and none of us have had
problems for about 2 or 3 years, ask the guard to contact Nevin
Graithwaite, who is apparently the Lieutenant in charge. This contact
even gave me Nevin's number which is 425-234-2882. Most of us don't
carry around all that many phone numbers, but it might help to
remember the name Nevin Graithwaite.
As usual, it pays to be polite to any security people around Boeing
plants, security being what it is these days. I'm sure these folks
get jumpy, when they see us carrying bins and scopes.
