the weather was mostly dull-grey, typical winter, without the incessant
leaking sky, and colder than normal with a brisk wind out of the north and
west... the list below is in no particular order (with the exception of the
last few birds; don't peek):

we also had an unconfirmed white-throated sparrow (in sight for two seconds,
in flight)

but to make it exceptional, it was a four-woodpecker day, topped with
numerous pileated and red-breasted sapsuckers, all displaying breeding
fervor...

all in all, 47 species (and i may have missed a few) made it a VERY nice
morning of birding at juanita bay park... for those interested, the Photo
of the Month has been updated, with the main Birds Gallery getting its
update before the weekend... the GBHE shots were taken a few days ago when
one of our tall friends took out a fairly large rat in the cattails...
