Subject: [Tweeters] Speed birding

Birders need not apologize for their participation in Big Days or
Speed Birding activities.

Anyone worried about the 'wasteful' use of fuel on a big day or speed
birding event is living in a glass house if they ever drive to their
favorite birding spots.

Although I have not participated in speed birding (yet), it is clear
that the activity can be done in a completely legal and ethical
manner. The term "speed birding" is not synonymous with harassment of
wildlife or destruction of habitat. These illegal activities can take
place at any pace of birding.
