Well, I have to eat a little crow and apologize to some of you. I took speed-birding to be something different--an activity that tempts people into destructive practices--rather than another name for what people are doing on a Big Day, Birdathon, or whatever you call it. So I sincerely apologize, and I regret my words about not being able to read. My fault. Sorry. The description of people going to extremes to find more birds got my ire up and clouded my judgement. <sigh> Okay, everyone back into the field and let's, please, drop it.
