Reports of SANDHILL CRANE migrating through the area are
continuing. Please continue to leave messages about your sightings for the
column in The Curlew.

On March 7, Bob Woodley reported a WESTERN GREBE in Columbia Park in
Kennewick and 8 GREATER YELLOWLEGS at the Yakima Delta.

The cliffs along the Old Inland Empire Highway in Benton City were quite
productive on March 8. Murrel Dawson and Nancy LaFramboise reported a
singing CANYON WREN as well as 2 PRAIRIE FALCONS, 1 HARRIS'S SPARROW and a
LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE in the vicinity of Chandler Dam.

Tom Clarke reported that more BURROWING OWLS have returned to their
traditional nesting territory near Red Mountain between West Richland and
Benton City. He also observed 2 SAY'S PHOEBES at Hanford on March 10.

Shirley Sonnichsen reported a COMMON LOON in the Columbia River near the
campground in Columbia Park in Kennewick on March 11.

Arriving at least 2 days ahead of the previous early arrival date, Dennis
Rockwell found a CASPIAN TERN in Two Rivers Park in Kennewick on March 15.

Today, March 18, Bob Woodley found a LONG-BILLED CURLEW along Horn Rapids
Road at Stevens Road, near Battelle in North Richland.
