Brett, Tweets,

In fact they've become increasingly scarce in Seattle in winter. We've missed them entirely on the Christmas Count the last few years after finding some routinely before. Their summer and winter haunts seem to vary slightly. However, there is a small flock all winter (or all year) at the Edmonds scuba dive lot and in the parking lot off Aurora at 130th NW. They used to nest at Green Lake near the Evans Pool and along the ship canal near Husky Stadium, but not recently. They're common however in farm fields and along I-90 up and over Snoqualmie Pass, I believe summer and winter. I don't know of any evidence that they are either increasing or decreasing, just shifting around as the landscape evolves.

If they are, it sure isn't into Seattle. Anytime I cross the lake to the Eastside, I see them, but almost never in Seattle. Does anyone see BRBL in Seattle at all?

This brings up a question. Is this it just me noticing them more, or is this
spp. Expanding its numbers? They much more common now than just a few years
