I knew someone in Black Diamond who was brought a recently fledged but
disabled hummer. I never saw the bird, but heard about it through mutual
friends. This person had the time and motivation to take care of it, and
would carry it around her property on her finger. She would hold it up to
clusters of emerging baby spiders, and it would eat the tiny spiders while
on her finger. She had to scope out her property for such spiders, but also
fed it a sweet solution of something. Eventually it recovered and was
released, but she still saw it many months later, recognizing it as it was
feeding at her feeders while perched . She had named it Goliath.

Stewart, thanks for the posts; I hope they make it.
