If the first choice (east side of the house) is not an option, the south side of your house is the next best choice. The bees like the morning sun, and are active when the sun hits their house. This advice is from my "expert" mason bee friends. You should be greatly rewarded with terrific pollination from these non-stinging, friendly little bees. Probably neither the bats nor the birds will be interested in your bees.

Hi folks,
This is a little off subject but maybe someone knows on this list?

I purchased a Mason Bee block (sans bees) and want to hang it in a safe place. The instructions say away from bird feeders and under the eaves of your house. We have bird feeders and a bat house on both the east side and west side of the house. How far away should the block be from the feeders and bat house?
