Subject: [Tweeters] Big Nest Along I-90 Heading West / WOS 03/26 trip

Have any of you seen the Huge nest along I-90 heading west, just before
milepost 85?? It's in a tree over a pond (?). I don't do so well doing
drive-by birding at 70 mph so wasn't able to ID the bird that flew to the
tree in which the nest is situated. Anybody know which nest to which I'm
referring? What's nesting there?

Thanks,
Mary

PS - Scott Downes was much too modest re his 3/26 WOS trip report . (Hi
everybody! Will you e-mail me the pix you took?? Thanks!) It was
wonderful, we saw/heard a lot of cool birds. I'm not sure what my personal
highlight was--hearing birdsong shimmer over the sagebrush in the early
morning, seeing the nesting Great Horned Owl in the cliffs, two crows
(ravens?) spiraling down over the Columbia River w/talons locked, the
gorgeous mostly-basic-plumages American Avocet at the Para Ponds, the
interesting Dark-eyed Junco (big Sibley p. 501), and the sheer spectacle of
Sandhill Cranes and Canada Geese honking honking honking coming coming
coming in along Corfu Road. It was quite the day!
