Sightings for Sunday, March 27

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta were 9 COMMON REDPOLLS,
a YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD by the tower, an AMERICAN
BITTERN, 4 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, and a MARBLED
GODWIT. 8,000-10,000 SNOW GEESE remain in the area. The
BOREAL OWL has not been seen since Thursday, March 24. It is
presumed to have left the area.

At Boundary Bay at the foot of 64th St. in Delta, 4 SAVANNAH
SPARROWS were heard singing. Also along 64th St, south of
36th Ave., an AMERICAN KESTREL was seen.


Sightings for Saturday, March 26

At Pitt Meadows, 6 SANDHILL CRANES were seen near the
intersection of Thompson Rd. and Rannie Rd. Along the Pitt
Meadows nature dyke, 7 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and
a NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen.

At Iona Island in Richmond, a SNOW BUNTING was seen at the tip
of the south jetty.

At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, 4 YELLOW-
RUMPED WARBLERS were seen .


Sightings for Friday, March 25

At Pitt Meadows, 16 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE,
2 SNOW GEESE, and 5 CACKLING GEESE were seen with
CANADA GEESE in a field just south of the north Alouette bridge.
Four SANDHILL CRANES were seen in a field north of Neaves Rd.
and Thompson Rd.

At Iona Island, a SNOW BUNTING was seen at the tip of the south
jetty.

At the UBC Botanical Gardens, a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE was seen with CANADA GEESE.


Sightings for Thursday, March 24

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, the BOREAL OWL continues
in the cedar tree in the parking lot near the pay telephone. Look for
the roped off area.

At Burnaby Lake in Burnaby, 2 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS
were seen from the Piper Avenue spit.


Sightings for Wednesday, March 23

At Reifel, the BOREAL OWL continues in the cedar tree in the
parking lot near the pay telephone. Look for the roped off area.
Also at Reifel, 3000 SNOW GEESE were seen along the entrance road.

The GYRFALCON was seen along Westham Island Road just south
of Tamboline Road in Delta.

Also in Delta, another GYRFALCON was seen near the mansion
west of the foot of 96th Street along the Boundary Bay shoreline.
20 TUNDRA SWANS were seen north of Hwy 10 near 96th St.


Sightings for Tuesday, March 22

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, the BOREAL OWL continues
in the cedar tree in the parking lot near the pay telephone. Look for
the roped off area. A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was again
nearby. Also at Reifel were between 8,000 and 10,000 SNOW GEESE.
1,000 PACIFIC LOONS were seen offshore.

At Pitt Meadows, 2 TURKEY VULTURES were at the north end of
Rannie Road. 2 SANDHILL CRANES were seen from Neaves Road
near McNeill Road. Also on Neaves Road just south of the North
Alouette Bridge were 16 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE
and 5 CACKLING GEESE.

At Douglas Park in Langley, 3 SANDHILL CRANES were seen
flying towards Langley Airport, where they may have roosted.

There has been no news either way on the immature male KING
EIDER seen at Gibsons on Sunday.


Sightings for Monday, March 21

At Reifel, the BOREAL OWL and NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL
continue in the cedar tree in the parking lot near the pay telephone.
Look for the roped off area. Also at Reifel were a YELLOW-RUMPED
WARBLER AND 5 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, and 2 MARBLED
GODWITS were seen offshore.

In Delta, 100 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen in a field off 72nd St.
just north of the Boundary Bay dyke.
