I'm an old-school owler so I always go into the dark of night armed with a
flashlight (mainly for finding my way) and my own repertoire of calls (some of
which I do better than others). I'm not a big fan of the full-electronics
approach to birding; not only with owls but with other birds as well. I'd rather be
less successful and let the owls rate my calls by their response. That way,
when I find one or two, it's a real treat. But, that's just me!
