Michael was still out of town yesterday, so I subbed for him on the Wednesday walk at Marymoor.

It was a good day, started with a little rain early that stopped very quickly. Overcast, and then broken clouds. 40F at start. No wind.

The notable birds for the day were California Quail, and Turkey Vulture (perhaps the fourth occasion). At one point we had 6 Bald Eagles overhead, with 5 Red-tailed Hawks. We had one Red-breasted Sapsucker, a pair of Wood Ducks and one Green Heron all at the Rowing Club ponds. Lots of birds singing, and evidence of nesting from American Robin, American Crow, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Black-capped Chickadee, and Rufuous Hummingbird (female on nest). 56 species for the day.

We had a Long-tailed Weasel run across the path early (first time in a while), and the turtles are starting to bask on the logs at the Rowing Club pond.
