How about installing a streaming video camera feed into the birds' nest cavity so we all can watch them nest on the web? Those cameras are getting VERY tiny and unobtrusive.

My preference would be to strictly limit access to a small number or experts. Fence the place off. The rest of us birders should be happy with seeing photographs for a very long time. Hopefully the powers that be will realize that having thousands of birders tramping through the forest looking for the bird(s) could cause great harm. Just my personal two cents.
