Shortly after 7 a.m., with assistance from two other birders whose names I didn't get, I found the Black Phoebe at the M Street/29th Ave. bridge in Auburn.
Then I went over to Brannan Park, on the Green River in Auburn (at the east end of 28th, off Auburn Way North) and on a gravel bar on the east side of the river there was a spectacular Mandarin Duck. His right leg was unbanded but I couldn't see the left; undoubtedly an escapee but a beautiful bird to see in the wild, nonetheless.
