Hi Tweeters,

The migrants kept migrating this week, it was very
quiet here. But I got a great surprise Wed morning.
A Green Heron was fishing the salmon pond. Of course
it flew off right away when I saw it. I wonder how
often it has been visiting? The baby salmon will be
released out into the bay sometime in the next week or
two.

The crows obliterated at least two of the Bushtits
nests so I was cheered by the discovery of a nest of
Robins with about 5 young birds close to fledging.
The crows on the other hand provided some cheap
entertainment at the Ocean Studies building by an
ardent but so far lousy attempt at building a nest
over one of the outside decks. There is at least 2
nests worth of material on the deck below.
