Hey tweets, Just a quick note (after the awful pun in the subject line, my
brain has decided it needs to estevate). The Fill was full of great
sandpipers (that's the pun; get it? sandpipers, a full pipe, Montlake Fill;
aw, never mind).

Yesterday late in the afternoon I relocated the SOLITARY SANDPIPER I had
found earlier in the week. It was foraging on the west side of Shoveler
Pond. On the main pond were two SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, a few LEASTS and a
couple of WESTERNS among the KILLDEERS. A couple of WILSON'S SNIPES have
been hanging out at the south end of the main pond, too.

Also on Shoveler Pond was a CINNAMON TEAL.

Conditions were not ideal, on account of Opening Day pre-celebration
activities. Hundreds of boats were lining up for Saturday's festivities, and
they seemed to be a magnet attracting hordes of news helicopters. The
helicopter pilots had no clue that they were hovering over a nature preserve
and that their noise was affecting the birds. Oh well. - Connie, Seattle
