To all; I am forwarding this message and photos from Jim Christensen for your information. Jim says to feel free to publish his photos as long as he receives credit. Jim lives at the SW base of Mt. Spokane a few miles from me. We will be doing followup watchs to see if it hangs around and will advise all if it does. Has anyone else been seeing them lately???

Wild Tracks Photography

About 4 p.m. May 7, 2005 as we returned home and were driving up to the house, my wife and I spotted a bird flying from the spot where we scatter seed for the birds. It was a bird we were not familiar with, but it appeared to be some sort of pigeon. The next morning (May 8th) I got up around 5 a.m. and went out to take pictures of the many birds that visit our feeding stations. At 6:30 a.m. the bird showed up again and I was able to identify it as a Band Tailed Pigeon. It stayed for a little over an hour and I was able to get several pictures. I was not sure how common it was to our area so I called Ron Dexter, a local bird expert, and he said it was not common to the area. We are located near the base of Mt Spokane on east Randall Road, Mead, Washington.
