Hello;

Saturday May 7th, Vicki King and I lead a Seattle Audubon Field trip to the
Umtanum Creek Recreational Area in the Yakima River Valley Canyon. The
weather was great, the birding was good, and thanks to all of the birders
present (especially Brenda Senturia, Stefan Schlick, and Doug Kuehn) who
helped out. We had excellent looks at a PRAIRIE FALCON flying around, then
landing at a nest site. We also had good looks at LAZULI BUNTING,
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, CHUCKAR, and LEWIS WOODPECKER. High overhead we had a
GOLDEN EAGLE soaring, and a flock of WHITE PELICANS flying past. As an added
bonus we did see a few BIG HORNED SHEEP on the nearby hillsides. A great day
in the Yakima River Canyon.

Good Luck and Good Birding - Michael Fleming
