For those Tweets who want more practice identifying and learning the
vocalizations of Warbling Vireos, they are all over the place at
Rattlesnake Lake and the Cedar River Watershed Education Center. (CRW
is located near North Bend. Take Exit #32 for 432the Avenue SE/Cedar
Falls Road SE and go 2.5 miles south to the parking area.)

On Sunday morning, I took a Finnish fellow there because, after 2 weeks
and nearly 3,000 miles around our state in search of birds, he'd failed
to find a Warbling Vireo. He was mightily impressed that I could park
the car, open the door, and find that bird immediately. Thank goodness
I knew right where to go, for Mike West and I led a walk for beginning
birders on Saturday, and everyone knew what bird was singing "receiver,
receiver, receiver, receipt" by the end of the 2 hour walk.

BTW, CRW is very accessible for people in wheel chairs and those who
use walkers. You don't have to go off the beaten path to find the
vireos.
