Sorry for the late post.
On Sunday 5/8 there was 1 Black Tern hawking insects at the northern
part of Rest Lake. Also the 2 pairs of Redheads are still present on
Rest Lake. Shorebirds were few, 2 Greater Yellowlegs and 12 Least
Sandpipers were seen. Lots of Cinnamon Teals about, along with 2 pairs
of Blue-winged Teals and 2 pairs of Wood Ducks. Eight Yellow-headed
Blackbirds were counted in the corner marsh, all males. In the oaks,
House Wrens were the second most bird seen and heard, where as the Tree
Swallows were number one. This can't be good for the White-breasted
Nuthatches. Along the Kiwa Trail, there were 4 Great Egrets. Finally,
Soras, Virginia Rails, and American Bitterns could be heard calling in
most of the marshy areas.
