Several "Tweeters" e-mailed me and asked if I could post the schedule, as
they apparently could not open the PDF document on our website. Sorry for
the multiple postings, but here you go:

8:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Festival events are located in downtown venues and at outdoor viewing areas,
most within easy walking distance of each other. Edmonds is stop #1 on the
Cascades Loop of "The Great Washington State Birding Trail" map, recently
developed by Audubon Washington. The trail includes seven loops,
highlighting the best birding sites throughout the state. Visit prime
birding locations in Edmonds, such as Puget Sound waterfront, the Edmonds
Marsh, Yost Park and other natural areas. A checklist of these species is

A Day of Birding Events & Downtown Activities

Featured Presentations
10:00-11:00 AM Sunny Walter, photographer and co-author of "Washington
Nature Weekends - 52 Adventures in Nature", will present a slide program at
Edmonds Theater, 415 Main Street. Afterwards, Sunny will sign books at
Edmonds Bookshop, 111 - 5th Ave. S. Free tickets will be available at the
theater door beginning at 9:30 AM.
7:00-8:30 PM Jane Westervelt and the WSU Raptor Club will present LIVE hawks
and owls commonly found in the Pacific Northwest, and share information
about their natural history, at the Plaza Room, 650 Main Street. Jane is a
biologist with an education background and 25 years of bird watching
experience. After the presentation there will be an opportunity to ask
questions and "meet the birds". Free tickets will be available at Artworks
beginning at 10:00 AM.

9:15-10:15 Guided walk at Yost Park (9535 Bowdoin Way)

8:00-4:00 Bird Viewing Stations:
Bird viewing stations are staffed by knowledgeable birdwatchers.

Brackett's Landing Jetty (North side of Edmonds-Kingston ferry dock)
Pick up a map to bird viewing stations and other local birding sites at the

Drop in to peruse our exhibits, catch a scheduled workshop, or bring the
kids for some hands-on fun.
