Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

A probable KITTLITZ?S MURRELET was reported May 8 flying past Boiler Bay.

One or more SANDHILL CRANES are now being seen on coastal Curry County. One
was at South Slough on Coos Bay May 10. On May 11 four BLACK SWIFTS were
east of Yachats. A PALM WARBLER was seen May 5 on the north side of the D
River in Lincoln City. A singing BLACK PHOEBE is being seen at the Wilson
River Bridge along Hwy 101 north of Tillamook. On May 7 a RUDDY TURNSTONE,
two BLACK TURNSTONES, and two TATTLERS were on Barview Jetty. On May 4 a
LONG-TAILED DUCK and a TATTLER were at the South Jetty of the Columbia
River.

On May 7 two GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were on top of Larch Mountain east of
Portland. A BLACK TERN was at the Fernhill Wetlands May 6. A flock of 12
WHITE PELICANS was seen May 9 flying south over Finley NWR. Only two are
being seen at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On may 9 a BANK SWALLOW was at Fern
Ridge. On May 10, 16 BLACK TERNS were seen there. A SABINE?S GULL is now
being seen at Fern Ridge.

On May 7 a pair of GREEN HERONS were at the mouth of the Deschutes River. A
very early COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen May 11 near Redmond. Two RUDDY
TURNSTONES were at Hatfield Lake May 10. Eight WHITE-FACED IBIS were near
LaPine May 8.

Heavy rains during the week closed Page Springs Campground and many of the
roads in southeast Oregon, including the CPR at Malheur NWR. Many birds are
now showing up at Refuge Headquarters.
