Subject: [Tweeters] Mounted Bats sought + bat walk tonight
Date: May 12 12:51:52 2005

Not exactly birds, but tweeting (mostly inaudible to us), flying mammals.

Are those mounted bats in your belfrey gathering dust and not being used to
generate excitement and knowledge about bats? Did someone give you a
mounted Vampire Bat that may have lost its allure to you and now you'd like
to allow more people to see it? If anyone out there has any mounted bats we
might use as teaching tools at Seward Park in Seattle they could be put to
good use. Local species of especial interest, but any bats would be valued
and used for teaching.

We will be leading several bat watching hayrides this summer.

Tonight from 7-9 pm I am leading a (free) bat walk at Seward Park in Seattle
for families and the general public. Everyone is welcome!

We will also listen for owls, so you people with more birds on your brains
than bats will have an extra reason to come.

While I'm on tweeters I'm seeing a lone Turkey Vulture out of my window
circling over West Seattle (near California SW and SW Alaska) right now, not
such a common sight here.
